I love the bookstore. It's a place of peace and comfort for me. I could spend many quiet hours browsing my favorite topics. To be honest, I don't finish half the books I buy, but I love having them by my side to sift through when the time is right. I have found audiobooks to be more efficient because I can listen to them while I edit, drive, or even shop! 

In 2021, during my darkest days, books (of any kind) were undoubtedly key to making my way out of Rock Bottom's basement. Once I realized I couldn't control the situation or help anyone besides myself, I stopped doing all the things I used to drown out the negative noise. Things like listening to music, watching movies, submerging myself in friend groups and client sessions. But most importantly, I stopped drinking alcohol. Instead, I drank in audiobooks like I was dying of thirst. The topics varied from betrayal, trauma, PTSD, sobriety, addiction, boundaries, divorce, codependency, spirituality, forgiveness, meditation, manifestation, and more. I listened and I journaled and I listened some more. The pace at which I tended and healed my open wounds was astounding. The year that should have broke me actually launched me into being my best self. Now my bookshelf display and audiobook library look completely different than they did in my "previous life". I am extremely grateful for this newfound direction and golden focus. These attributes have overflowed from my personal life into my professional life like a glorious waterfall. I traveled to find myself and found way more than I ever expected. And those big bright stories are for another day!

Our experiences and personalities shape the direction of every photograph or work of art we choose to create. It's the level of light within us that ultimately illuminates the message we want to convey.
